Formally organized in 1925, the National Bar Association is the country’s oldest and largest association of African American attorneys and judges. Conceived by 12 individuals who sought justice on civil rights issues via legal advocacy, the organization began when there were less than 1,000 African American lawyers in the country. Since then, membership has grown to include more than 65,000 legal professionals.

Each year, the association sponsors a prestigious event in which more than 2,000 judges, attorneys, and other guests convene. Scheduled for July 16-22, 2016, the National Bar Association’s 91st Annual Convention and Exhibits will take place at the Marriott St. Louis Grand Hotel in Missouri. In previous years, attendees listened to keynote speakers, partook in discussion sessions with distinguished leaders, and earned continuing legal education (CLE) credits. Members also have the opportunity to learn about the services and products of convention exhibitors.
